Washington School House Hotel Sketch

March 14, 2026 By cosmicdesign

Some buildings don’t just exist—they hold their ground.

The Washington School House Hotel commands presence without demanding it. Originally built in the late 1800s as a schoolhouse, its walls have witnessed generations—learning, growth, and transformation. Today, it stands as one of Park City’s most refined boutique hotels, where elevated luxury is grounded in deep respect for its past.

As a subject to sketch, it was undeniable. Balanced proportions. Architectural restraint. Details shaped by time rather than trend. This building doesn’t compete with its surroundings—it anchors them.

Capturing the Spirit of The Square Heap

March 6, 2026 By cosmicdesign

Designing the cover for The Square Heap by Dora Lee McKee was about capturing the spirit of the frontier and the quiet tension within the story. Set in the Missouri Territory of 1875, the novel centers around Lucy’s search for a new life—one that quickly becomes more complicated than she imagined.

I focused the design around the small shack known as the “Square Heap,” using it as a symbol of both isolation and hope. Earthy tones, weathered textures, and a simple landscape help reflect the grit and mystery of frontier life.

The goal was to create a cover that doesn’t reveal too much, but instead invites the reader into the world of the story—hinting at the secrets and challenges waiting inside.

Excited to design her next cover!

That’s a wrap on Hotel Thaynes’ Adventure Wall in Park City, Utah. It’s an immersive, interactive experience designed to go beyond décor. Rooted in the surrounding mountains and the stories they hold, the installation invites guests to pause, explore, and contribute their own memories through a touch of magnetic magic. The result is a space that feels personal, layered, and alive—one where every guest leaves a mark and becomes part of the story.

IMEX 2025 Design

September 28, 2025 By cosmicdesign

Partnering with the Park City Chamber Bureau for IMEX 2025 was an exciting opportunity to showcase “Mountainkind” on a global stage. I collaborated closely with their team to design an impactful trade show booth in Las Vegas—the largest event for the meetings, events, and incentive travel industry. From creating bold, larger-than-life wall panels to coordinating the many moving parts of booth design, this project proved how essential it is to work with a designer who knows your brand inside and out.

What began as a straightforward project quickly became a fast-paced challenge with tight deadlines and multiple layers of coordination—but that’s where the magic happens. It’s always an honor to bring Park City’s storytelling to life through design and to represent the community I proudly call home.

Park City Coffee Roaster

September 10, 2025 By cosmicdesign

Since 1997, Park City Coffee Roaster has been a beloved local staple—and when they asked for a complete branding and packaging refresh, I couldn’t wait to bring their story to life. To highlight their identity as the go-to choice for the adventurous coffee lover, I drew inspiration from the Rocky Mountains, Park City’s vibrant lifestyle, and its world-famous outdoor activities. The result: bold colors, rugged peak-inspired graphics, trail motifs, vintage typography, and packaging that lines up to form a massive mountain range—a visual identity as adventurous as their coffee.

Park City Coffee Roaster sources premium beans from thousands of coffee-growing communities worldwide, roasts small-batch at 7,000 feet, and follows the handcrafted traditions of the Roasters Guild of America. With new branding and packaging that reflects both quality and spirit, every bag invites you to seize the day with a truly elevated cup of coffee. Available at pcroaster.com and Park City’s local grocery stores.
